Bob Carol Coleman Happy Pentecostal Well I never testified in school, I thought someone would think that I’m not cool, But one day I had enough of that evolution stuff, So I stood right up & said God’s word is true, Well, my teacher didn’t know what to do, Seemed she was shaking in her shoes, Although she knew I meant no harm, She took me by the arm & ask, What religion are you? Chorus I am a happy Pentecostal, born again, Tongue talking, holy roller, heaven bound believer, In the liberated power of Jesus name, I’ve been washed in the blood, sanctified by the Spirit, I believe in Holiness, & I suggest that you do the same, I was set free at a Pentecostal altar, Pardon me if I’m not ashamed to be a happy Pentecostal, Born again, tongue talking, holy roller, Heaven bound believer in the liberated power of Jesus name ! Well I never witnessed on the street, I’m to shy to talk to people I meet, But one day on the town square, a bunch of kids were gathered there, Throwing beer cans at the law & shouting peace, Well I didn’t intend to interfere, Till one started screaming in my ear, I laid both hands on his head & prayed while his head turned red, And then the others said lets get out of here ! On my job I never said a word, I figured they all knew I went to church, Until the boss man called me in for some tonic & gin, And then I figured he hadn’t heard, I said no sir, I’m not the drinking kind, Except for what they call the “New Wine,” Well I thought that he would choke as he put out his cigar smoke, As I proceeded to tell one more time !
