Bob Tompos was kind enough to send us his very impressive resume and a synopsis from his platform. Mr. Tompos is a very familiar face in our city having been our Fire Chief, EMS Chief, Fire Fighter, Paramedic EMS I/C and MIOSHA Compliance Office. His higher education is based around the following: Fire Staff and Command, Trauma Life Support, Paramedic, EMT Specialist. His employment history: Quality Inspector for National Wholesale Drug Company, Territory Manager Bausch & Lomb, Critical Care Transport, ER Technician, CPR Instructor, Community EMS and most recent Taylor Fire Chief. He has a multitude of certifications and licenses and has a long list of professional affiliations including Medical Control Member IAFF Local 1252. In his platform he stated that he believes that you have to explore every possible option to obtain revenue before you raise taxes. We know Mr. Tompos has dedicated himself to the advancement of Emergency Medical Service with particular emphasis on the care of the senior population. He also believes that hard times do not mean the quality of life, and services for citizens should be diminished. And our favorite: he firmly believes that there are no greater resources than people and the experiences and talents of all people combined form the community and make it prosper. We have observed his passion with the safety of our residents and concern with the lack of or obsolete equipment in our fire house. Mr. Tompos is familiar with city finances and budgets and is not a follower but a leader, this was proven through his “retirement” issues and strong stand against the current mayor. We see Mr. Tompos as another strong, talented voice for our city. A strong contender!!!!!!
