Bob declared yesterday a perfect Christmas. Without my own - TopicsExpress

Bob declared yesterday a perfect Christmas. Without my own cultural expectations, I think theyre all pretty good, as long as were together, but other highlights in addition to my Roman glass, included: Breakfast (bagels, lox, coffee) with the kids, Vicky & Edmund, who came bearing gifts and as always, were a delight. Our Christmas movie was The Imitation Game, and OMFG, it was brilliant. While a good portion of the audience seemed unaware of Alan Turing before they films previews, there were no surprises in the storyline for me, but I was still on the edge of my seat, and from beginning to end, all performances were flawless. Dont walk, but run out to see it. Seriously. Chinese food for an early dinner. Even twenty years ago, that might have been the only real option in many places, but we noticed plenty of Japanese, Korean, Thai and Indian restaurants open as well. Still, tradition is tradition. At home, we watched a couple of documentaries including Constantines Sword, which traces the roots of anti-semitism to the end of the Roman era, and was somehow a particularly appropriate Christmas movie. And finally, there were chocolates. Lots of chocolates.
