Bodi, Bonni and I took a long walk tonight. I wonder if they realized one of our family members was missing as we walked along much faster than we usually did when Gramps was with us. He was always out for a meander where as the younger dogs preferred a brisk walk. I love the neighborhood we are in, now. There are lots of intriguing alleyways to explore and beautiful back yards to admire. We can walk halfway across town using only alleys and enjoying the fun of walking in the middle of the road. It was nice to get out because at home the tears flow too freely. I always do this...take a dog into my heart and then suffer when he leaves. Silly me but they are SO worth the love. So I will tear up and ache tonight and then put the memories in the little section of my brain where Missy, Kelly, Joe Boxer, Zoey Collie and Kinzie Littlemutt, and Jilly still live and romp and bring me smiles.
