Body language, lets chat :) Duncan who is a dog who gets uncomfortable in close contact with dogs he isnt familiar with. Its my job to notice this, help him understand I wont let other dogs invade his space and increase his confidence. Prior to this video, we had done some obedience work in a down around Remi and then I put him behind the gate to see what choice he would make. Remi was polite and didnt try to engage Duncan and only came when I called him. Duncan was relaxed around to lay down and put his head down. The next step would be to work non stationary exercises and , do what I call drive by sniffing. They allow the dog to gather information about each other but in a controlled way with movement. When they are comfortable, we would let them drag the leashes and interact under supervision only.
