Body of Work IV On exhibit until 2/28/14 Reception: 1/31/14, 6 - 8 p.m. Artel Gallery is pleased to present Body of Work IV. This exhibition is the fourth in a series of Artel exhibitions that explore the works of three artists with a strong artistic vision. This installment features artists Linda Kernick, Sally Miller and Gila Rayberg. Works in this exhibit were selected by jurors Michael Boles, Warren Thompson and Kreg Yingst, winners of our 2007 In Depth: Body of Work III show. Gilas selected works for this exhibit are largely a result of her nearly 4 years participation in Julia Kays Portrait Party (JKPP), an international, online community of artists interacting through portraiture. Each artist acted as both artist & model. The groups founder Julia Kay writes of Gilas work, Its fun to see the variety and the continuity of her own vision, from realism to wild color, and her enthusiasm and enjoyment of what she does always come through. Regarding her current body of work Rayberg states, Im amazed again & again by the human face. I never imagined Id still be creating portraits all these years later, but faces continue to challenge and excite me.
