Bodyweight Front Levers - to increase core strength forget sit-ups...look at anything that involves hanging from a bar or fixed object. Initially try to bring your knees to your chest, as you get stronger make the exercise harder by extending the feet away from the body until you can complete a number of toes to bar with straight legs. The lever progressions can then be performed by raising the hips with tucked legs, then straddled. The final progression is as seen (pike) with feet together driving from the hips and hinging from the scapula area of the shoulders/upper back.
