Boker Tov [Good Morning!] This is the Sabbath of parsha #41, Pinechas. The Torah portion this week begins with Numbers 25:10 and continues through Numbers 30:1. In this parsha we see the awakening of zeal for the Holy One in the hearts of ordinary men and women. As a shift in focus occurs from the rigors and challenges of the Wilderness Journey to the glorious inheritance and destiny to which we are called, passion for the Bridegroom-King and His Kingdom bursts forth as never before. The fiery zeal for the Holy One that abode only in Moshe previously, and which prompted him to cry out to the Holy One Teach me Your ways and Show me Your glory is being caught not just by stalwarts like Yhoshua and Kalev, but also by young, previously unheard of men like Pinechas and by young women like the daughters of Tzelofechad.
