Boko haram is kidnapping villagers in Nigeria and cameroun. What this means is that it is swelling its ranks by conscripting people by force, many are not joining willingly. Unlike Islamic state, Al Qaeda or the haqqani network etc, it has found few adherents of its ideology among its host communities. It is not as strong as our govt makes out, they can be routed. Boko harams major strength is that its main adversary - the Nigerian state, is led by a weak, rudderless and indecisive leadership, otherwise it wldnt have had this huge capacity to cause so much misery and disgrace to our country.
