Bolaji Abdullahi and The Betrayal of The People !!! Ive read so many reactions over the removal of the erstwhile Minister of Sports,Mr. Bolaji Abdullahi and I think its time we set the records straight. Rather than blame the FG for removing Bolaji Abdullahi,we should blame Bolaji for betraying the trust million sports loving Nigerians have come to repose in him. In the face of the present political impasse in the country,Kwara especially and after the defection of the ABS led rebels in PDP Kwara to APC,it was learnt that the chairman,caretaker committee for PDP Kwara approached Bolaji on the way forward in Kwara but rather than lend support to the party leadership,he asserted that Im not a politician and should be left out of the political schemings in the state. Some questions comes to mind,would Bolaji have been nominated and appointed in the first place if he were not a PDP member ? Was Bolaji in the education sector when he was appointed Commissioner Of Education in Kwara ? What Sports background does he have to have earned him the position of Sports Minister ? Bolaji is a trained journalist and Ive never read any of his articles on neither education nor sports. The truth is,Bolaji is a politician !!! News from the grape vine has it that arrangements are on-going for a grand reception to be held for the ousted minister by ABS and some other politicians that will be graced by some governors in Ilorin yet,our dear Bolaji claimed hes not a politician. Was such a reception organised for our own dear Arc. Halima Alao whom under her ministry facilitated the renovation of the old teaching hospital and the commissioning of the present UITH permanent site ? Was such reception organised for C.O Adebayo whom under his minisrty made sure GSM services (especially GLO) went round the nooks and crannies of Kwara State ? But they will celebrate Bolaji Abdullahi today because he chose an individual over millions sports loving Nigerians. They will lay claims to his success without giving credit to the federal government that gave him an enabling environment to work and perform. But should that come as a surprise ? For his leader its all about him and nobody else. In conclusion,if Bolaji had chosen to serve the sports loving Nigerians under a government he recorded some success,wouldnt he had remained the Sports Minister ? But Bolaji choose ABS over us. He betrayed the trust we have reposed in him !!!
