Bolton’s women are being recognised for their hard work and dedication to their communities by Bolton at Home. As part of its first annual Women in the Community Awards, Bolton at Home, and partners from local women’s organisations, is seeking nominations for the Woman of the Year and Young Woman of the Year categories. The aim is to celebrate and reward women who make a difference to those around them through volunteering, helping out their neighbours, or their work with children, over the past 12 months. The awards are open to anyone who lives in Bolton and who gives up their time freely to help others, or who is a community champion. Caroline Tosal-Suprun, Community Development Officer for Bolton at Home, said: “There are women and girls all over Bolton who work tirelessly in their communities and this is a chance to reward the real contribution that many of them make. “We would urge anyone who thinks they may know someone who fits this bill to put them forward for these awards and thank them for going the extra mile.” The closing date for nominations is October 4, with a special ceremony due to take place on December 10 at BoltonUniversity. Nominations can be submitted electronically at boltonathome.org.uk. By post, after obtaining a form from a UCAN centre, or from the The Bolton Hub, Bold Street, Bolton, BL1 1LS.
