Bombing continues in Nigeria because we are either dormant, - TopicsExpress

Bombing continues in Nigeria because we are either dormant, irresponsible or irresponsive and or dead. Last Friday, I met a security expert where we talked about security in Nigeria. He was at the scene of the Nyanya Bombing in Abuja last April and he shared gory experiences. Hes from Kaduna and adviced that since our government is doing nothing to secure us, all Nigerians must always avoid crowded places. In a yet to be confirmed claim, one of the HSE specialists of an oil servicing company told me recently of how his company go through hell when audited by SSS and NNRA on their usage of dynamites and radioactive sources because they wouldnt settle to be saved the stress of audit all time as some indigenous companies does. A mud logger with a multinational oil and gas coy also noted of illegal practices by some indigenous servicing companies. This morning, I took matters with officers of Vehicle Inspections Office(VIO) and men of the Nigerian Police on a damaged vehicle along the popular Aba road around Shell RA, Rumuibekwe, Port Harcourt. The vehicle was damaged by accidents weeks ago and its still on the Garden City main express road. I asked the VIO officers first and they told me it wasnt their job but that of TIMARIV(Rivers State Road Traffic Management Authority). I approached a black Nigerian Police patrol van nearby and asked an officer with others listening and his response was no be our job, na Road Safety job. So I asked the police man that answered me that if Boko Haram put bomb in the damaged car and detonated the device in the evening when the lane facing Aba is always tight and crowded, does he not think casualty would be much? And the foolish officer responded by saying na you wan put am there? I felt like slapping him, but I wasnt going to.I told him that if it happened there would be casualties .So why not take the wrecked vehicle off the road and avoid extra work, and you would have prevented a costly attack too. I dont know how to put it, but I will say the only thing the SSS can do well is to protect politicians when they go for events. They cant even gather credible intelligence to foil attacks in Abuja, how will they secure other parts of Nigeria? So far they have been incapable of clamping down the sects activities and growing influences particularly the way the Chibok abduction which is now over played. And DHQ wouldnt be so ashamed to stop talking. Nonsense people altogether. Im tired hearing news of bombings in Nigeria. No matter what, none of us can avoid crowds. One will go to the market. One will go to church or mosque. One will use a bus stop or be held in heavy traffic. One would use the airport too. We cannot do without crowds. So if I am to avoid crowds as much as possible, then my existence is tailored and Im no longer free. Why? Because of Boko Haram which Jonathan has failed to tackle since hes playing politics with it so that he can be re-elected in 2015. Im made a slave in my world because the Nigerian Army is sabotaged corrupt officers. I suspect everyone around me because the Nigerian Police will always shift responsibility and many members of the force are only interested in defaulting commercial and keke drivers theyll collect money from daily to keep up with their needs. Im in chains because Nigerian Journalists wouldnt develop stories. They start and end the same day. They dont follow events because they are afraid they could be jailed or killed or wouldnt want their families to suffer. So I cant make informed choices because their news reports are either shallow, political and or inconclusive.I cant smile because Nigerian Writers are just like secular writers.Their stories cant get Jonathan up. They lack philosophy and ability to cause a movement. Their books cant even move them not to talk of the people. The EFCC and ICPC that should check banks records properly are either not doing that faithfully or are benefiting from the sponsors of the sects activities. These are people that should check illegal deposits and withdrawals. Is it not bank money these insurgents spends dey? Whos paying them? What of Custom and Immigration. They are all not up to their duties. The continued bombings of parts of Nigeria simply states that institutions that should put checks and balances in running the Nigerian State are either dormant, shifting responsibility and or dead. It is time we wake up to check the holes and get some people to their toes. Dont think its not affecting you. Someday your house will be the next or that of your neighbours. Why dont we act responsibly and do our jobs without circumstances forcing us to do them. Its cheaper we prevent further attacks now than restoring situations to normalcy. Every workers of any institution should be up their duties. The money offered you to act irresponsibly will you have to pay later either with your life or that of your children and or your future. Act well in your capacities now.
