If your into Days gone by of The Great Wooden Schooner Sailing Ships of Long Ago and find yourself on The North Shore today, stop in Marblehead and tour/sail The Schooner Lynx. If your into this type of history like Herr Hering and I, I find myself lucky to have been on quite a few of these beautiful ships that are left. Some reproductions (still beautiful) some originals..The Pride of Baltimore, The U.S.S. Constitution,The Ardelle, The Charles W. Morgan, The Lannon, The Fame, The Bluenose II, The Lynx, The Roseway, The Unicorn, The Bounty just to name a few (Which the last of 2 have made their way down to the sea sadly in the last few years) Its like stepping back in time, if only for a brief while. My most memorable was sailing on The Schooner Lannon on a perfect day like today, escorting The Bluenose II into Gloucester Harbor with a bagpiper standing loft playing beautiful bagpipe music greeting her respectfully into the harbor.
