Some thunderstorms could produce large hailstones - high winds - heavy rain and frequent lightning beginning this afternoon. Moreover, some of them could produce a tornado. People in these regions should take the necessary precautions and listen for subsequent weather warnings, as severe weather warnings may be issued if severe weather becomes imminent. This watch is in effect from 11:00 AM to 12:00 AM EDT. A vigorous cold front will affect several areas of the province from west to east today. Ahead of the system, severe thunderstorms will affect the above-mentioned areas. When thunder roars, go indoors! It is always safer to take shelter inside. Ahead of the cold front, southwesterly winds will herald the return of hot and humid conditions in Southern Quebec and humidex values could once again near or exceed the warning threshold of 40.
