Bond update: We had several swimmer parents present at the bond meeting tonight. The RRISD is in severe need of a $200M bond just to make sure things are maintained correctly and at least two new schools within the next two years. Voting is NOT going to be light, we have a governor primary and we are now expecting over 100K voters to show up. Knowing the political leanings of the Round Rock area, passing a bond is going to be very difficult. Having said that, we as a community really need to support the bond effort. We did get a sit-down meeting with Ms. Betos who is the chair person of the bond committee. She was very informative. In summary, we really need to organize as a group and solicit partnership with other swim groups, community leaders, city leaders and businesses. We really have one chance to get a swim center and we need to get our ducks in a row for the next bond election to make it happen. We really need your help in a community outreach effort to get more partnerships. If you know people who are instrumental in making these relationships, please let us know below.
