Bonjour Mes Amis, Cup:O:Joe and cold temps greet this amazing day :) T-minus 7 days and counting as we near #KirkwoodDeep POW Hunt’n season my friends… We are going to need a little positive energy and some help from Mother Nature for sure, Snow making teams made good progress over-night with the temps and we are looking as you will read at a few more days of good temps to prep the base area for this weekend’s opening day! Here’s the 411 on Weather: Forecast Discussion: An inside slider trough dropped through eastern NV overnight tracking just a little too far east to bring any snow to the Sierra but close enough to advect a much cooler air mass across the region. High temperatures will struggle to reach into the low 40s around Lake Tahoe today and may barely get into the 30s on the ridges while blustery NE to easterly winds along with dry air (low dew points) adds even more bite to the already unseasonably cool temperatures. With easing winds tonight and only thin variable high cloudiness; we should see the coldest temperatures so far this fall. Temperatures should recover some tomorrow as high pressure, off the California coast today, builds inland. By Tuesday daytime highs should return to near normal after another chilly night (tomorrow night). Increasing mid/high clouds late Tuesday ahead of an approaching weather system should result in a less frigid morning by Wednesday. Models remain fairly consistent with a change to a more active weather pattern for the 2nd half of this week yet inconsistent with the timing of individual systems as well as precipitation amounts.
