Bonjour ami(e)s barbares, Cest avec plaisir que je vous livre la version anglaise co-créée (encore mille mercis à Duc Ha Duong, Roland Gosselin et Josiane Versini) et co-optée de notre manifeste, qui bien sûr évoluera en fonction de la version française! Pour ceux et celles qui lignorent, je vis en Suède avec mon mari anglais, et comme nous avons eu un certain nombre de questions de la part des non-francophones (qui, vous limaginez, sont pléthores ici...), jai jugé utile de traduire ce qui est lessence de notre groupe. Après tout, nos idéaux dépassent les frontières! The Barbarian Manifesto Our differences explain who we are as a movement : we are different, hence our movement. We share a common diagnosis, which each and every one of us expresses with his own words, according to his own personal equation. Our experiences are diverse yet our conclusions converge. Humanity is at a tipping point. The logic of progress that we know today and which has intensified since the Industrial Revolution has reached an unsustainable level. The rules by which our world has been working are now obsolete. We are experiencing a disruptive process in which the only winners are those who can forecast the forthcoming era and use their foresight in order to impose their views and “privatize humanity” to their sole benefit. That is not the world we want to live in. We disagree with this harmful privatization process and we truly believe that nothing good can come of it. It hinders in every way the emergence of a more peaceful world. We are convinced it is each and everyone’s duty to stop this destructive and degenerative trend by promoting and implementing constructive and collaborative grassroots initiatives. Weve identified 5 prerequisites for this change to happen: • Stewardship : individualistic initiatives only go so far. Think bigger, think further, think collective. • Playfullness : the child within all of us is imaginative and unrestrained. Lets bring him back and infuse innovation with enchantment. • Positive thinking • Truly and deeply understanding that change first and foremost comes from within • Believing in mankind ! We are driven by a cause that transcends us, and we are committed to: • Being at peace with ourselves and living according to the principles that we stand for, in order to promote at our own level this positive evolution • Supporting in all possible ways the most enthusiastic and adventurous defenders of our cause. • Coaching our fellow « Barbarians » into discovering their very own strengths and abilities, and enabling them to make their own informed choices.
