Bonjour, sunshine! Yay! The Winter Solstice has arrived + with a new moon no less. Powerful stuff, peeps! Tis the time to let go of crappy to make room for happy. Dont wait for New Years Eve to set your intentions, to release what needs to go. Ask + ye shall receive now. There are 11 days left of 2014...a gateway to get away from what no longer jives with you + to allow in who + what does. The universe has given you this day to activate the remaining so you can finish the year strong. Accept this gift with gratitude. The alignment is a rare one so use it to get er done. Transition into 2015 consciously, fully, authentically, fresh, anew. The Winter Solstice is the shortest day of the year, the catalyst for longer + stronger sunshine henceforth. Were nudged to listen more, talk less because its in the silence where the divine speaks to us. Winter holds the natural space for this to occur if we accept its invitation. This season reminds us that even in the darkness theres light, with a promise of more to come, when we acknowledge our inner light, which is always shining if ignited not matter whats going on outside of us. There are a few rituals you can do today that will spark things up up up brilliantly + radiantly. Make a list of what needs to be let go + burn it. Then make a list of what you desire + burn it. Through fire you are releasing to + requesting from the universe who is always on standby to assist if you ask + believe. And receive. You gotta know that youre worthy of the treasure... accept it with open arms + appreciation. Another simple yet meaningful ritual is to choose a single word that you will focus on for the next twelve months. Peace, love, abundance, health, light, joy, healing, creativity + so on. Infuse all you do, say, be with your word. Use it as a filter. Its amazing how quickly you can shift from s**t to smile through a one word reframe reminder. Write your word down on post-its that you stick in noticeable places, on index cards used as bookmarks or propped here + there in your face, on your cell wallpaper, on your computer screensaver + desktop. Anywhere youll spot it often. Set aside some reflection time to see where youve been + where youd like to go emotionally, spiritually, physically. What have you sown? What have you reaped? What worked for you? Against you? As I stooped to snap a photo this morn, I had an urge to plant seeds in the sand after noticing a petit pod. I swirled my finger around to create an opening + looked for bits + pieces representing my wish seeds...a tiny shell with white stripe sun rays was planted for light, a heart-shaped stone went in with a prayer to keep my heart open + soft, a sprig of green for health, a bit of wood for strength, the pod filled with my dreams for 2015. I then covered all with sand + gratitude. You can do something similar at the beach, in the snow, even in houseplant pot soil. I recall reading somewhere a long time ago that a seed is nothing if it isnt buried + left alone in the darkness to work its magic. Were the same way figuratively speaking. Winter is the time to enter a cocoon...to go within...to enjoy time inside...to hibernate to create the life of you want. Like a seed, you will grow + shoot through the surface come spring. How exciting! You as the caterpillar enjoys the treats of the season + then settles into a beautiful cocoon of your own making, emerging as a gorgeous butterfly with magnificent wings so you can fly. It takes time, patience, a willingness to go into a dark space fearlessly, believing in the magic + miracle that will come when you answer winters call. Not always easy, but necessary to tune into winters wisdom. And he is a wise one. Winter is all about clearing the decks so nature can start over. Its the season for us to do the same. I noticed that the path in front of the seawall was open. Ahhhh...a new season with a new gateway to cross over to the other side of the beach that I dont usually go to. Im up for it! I didnt look to make sure the coast was clear all the way down. I was thrilled to be given the gift in whatever form it was presented. It was smooth until the last 16 or so feet...hmmmm...I looked up + noticed angel wings + knew Id be okay. At the same time the sun ducked behind the clouds to watch the big wave roll in + over my feet + against my legs, pushing me to stop + ground myself, take a deep breath + explore my options. After a quick dash with lots of splash, I landed on the other side, stepping onto a beach so unlike the one I just left. The sun returned with a smile on his face. I looked up + saw a huge cloud checkmark...an attagirl for sure. It was my turn to smile. And so I did. BIG. Wrap up the gift of the remaining 11 days of this year BIG using the immense depth of winter + the intense energy of the new moon as fuel. Youll have all you need to cross the finish line a winner, because you already are. You just have to know + own it. Thats your gift to the world. Thank you for the prezzie.
