Bonner/Boundary County Families: I-DEA has arranged a Kids Dental and Vision Day for our students on Fri, November 22, 9am – 3pm at the Panhandle Health District building. Participation is BY APPOINTMENT ONLY: call Karen at 208.661.5099 to schedule. Services are provided by a registered dental hygienist, may include a visual dental screening, cleaning, sealants and/or fluoride varnish application. Children will also receive referrals, education, and home dental supplies at these appointments. This free service would normally cost up to $400. Dental sealants are a plastic resin material that is “Painted” onto the chewing surfaces of permanent molar teeth. This greatly reduces the risk oh having a cavity occur on the chewing surfaces of the sealed teeth. Fluoride varnish is a liquid coating that is applies to teeth with a brush. It dries instantly and only takes minutes to apply. Fluoride varnish provided a protective coating of fluoride on teeth. The varnish releases fluoride over several months, which strengthens teeth and helps prevent tooth decay. Parent or Guardian signature of consent for treatment is required.
