Bonnie As you may know, Bonnie was originally rehomed by us just over a year ago. At that time she weighed 27kg (A good weight as she is a small girl). She came back recently due to a change of circumstances with her new owners. She weighed over 42kg at this point! As such she was over a third heavier than her ideal body weight. Unfortunately the extra weight has placed excessive strain on her knees and she now suffers from arthritis of the joints as well as a lower lumbar disc compression. We have acted decisively and she has been on Metacam for the inflammation and pain as well as a strict diet and exercise regime. To date she has lost almost 4kg in 6 weeks and needs to lose a further 8kg to achieve her target weight. We thought you may be interested in her progress and have produced a graph to show her weight loss. We will update this every Tuesday. In the meantime do you feel you could be a foster family for Bonnie? She is very affectionate and loves the company of humans... dogs less so!
