~~~Bonus and allowances of government staff announced ~~~ Kerala government has hiked the ad-hoc bonus amount from Rs 3200 to Rs 3500 to its staff drawing a salary upto Rs 14,500 for the current year and sanctioned Rs 90 crore to clear all labour pension arrears. A decision to this effect was taken at a speical cabinet meeting held here yesterday. Similarly, those who were getting a salary of more than Rs 14,500 would get special Onam festival allowance of Rs 2200, an increase of Rs 200 from last year. Besides this, regular employees will get Rs 10,000 as Onam advance. Part time and contingent employees would get Rs 2000 as festival allowance. Special festival allowances for categories other than regular emFamily pensioners will get an amount of Rs 600. Cabinet also decided to clear all the labour pension arrears and amount of Rs 90 crores have been sanctioned for the same. For paying Onam exgratia to the workers of those Public Sector Units which were under lockout now and coir workers an amount of Rs 2.25 crore has been earmakred. Cabinet also sanctioned an amount of Rs.90 crore to clear the arrears of compensation to be paid to farmers affected in rain related incidents from 2011 to 2013. An amount of Rs 50 crore was sanctioned for KSRTC to give allowance during festival season, an official release said.
