Book your schedules off for August 17th, 2013. A charity hockey event will take place between the Fort McMurray Oil Barons and the Notre Dame Hounds at the Casman Centre. Prior to the game there will be a pre game tail gate party. At the tail gate there will be burgers and beers! The event is being put on in efforts to raise awareness and funds for Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Patients affected by the illness have one shot at recovery. They must go through a bone marrow transplant. In order to be a potential donor you must add yourself to the bone marrow database by swabbing the inside of your cheek. The event will have local NHLer Scottie Upshall as the coach for the Barons and St.louis Blues player Jaden Schwartz for the Hounds. During the event there will be a silent auction and a $50,000 dollar shoot-out ! Come out and support the cause!
