Booking your Wedding Suppliers is an important step and one to ensure you get right. Ask questions, meet prospective suppliers, chat with them on the phone - all are good ways to ensure that this is the right supplier for you, someone who gets you and can visualise your Day with you. This is espcially important with entertainment and photography/videography as these suppliers provide an emotional and personality input to your day so need to be someone you really want there. At the same time you should consider the timescale of booking your suppliers. Those who need to be there in person should be booked as early as possible. Once you have a quote from them, follow it up quickly to avoid disappointment. 3 times in the last 7 days I have had e-mail or phone calls from couples who want to book me but did not reply to my quote or follow up. In the meantime I had quoted elsewhere and those couples had aced quickly, asked their questions, even met up with me and then made their decisions. So I had to tell these 3 couples that I am no longer available to perform at their wedding. This means the time they spent reading my quote, thinking and making their decisions has been partly wasted all because they did not act quickly. Hopefully the information I provided will help them in asking the right questions and finding another supplier. Its difficult planning a wedding. You have so much to do all on top of your normal life and sometimes you are just too busy with other things. So working smarter means when you do have time, contact your prospective suppliers, follow up those quotes, ask your questions or chat or meet and then you can put that task to bed. As an entertainer I can only do one wedding per day. I never take multiple bookings. This work is my entire livelihood and is not funded by other jobs etc and so I must take bookings on a First Come - First Served basis. Its not being harsh, it really is the only way to work. If Couples want to take weeks or months to make their decisions they must, unfortunately take the risk that the supplier they eventually choose may no longer be available.
