Boola Boola! Rah, Rah, Sis boom Bah! Hokie Hokie Hy! What a much better weekend folks. Yes, several blowouts on he fight card, but some good games for neutrals like me. 1. The West Virginia v Okla. St. game started out as inept, poorly played and coached as last week’s Tech v ECU match. But no driving rainstorm could be used as an excuse. It turned into a pretty good one in the second half. Two mediocre QBs 2. Ga. v LSU was excellent, especially since Les Miles’ luck ran out against Georgia’s defense. Two good QBs 3. Arkansas gave Texas A&M all they could handle too. 4. Neuter Dame dropped one to Oklahoma. They need a QB. 5. Tech v Tech last Thursday night. Exciting game that should have been a comfortable win for the Hokies. How many dropped passes can Logan Thomas bear? I’ll have to start calling him Tom Brady soon. And why does Frank Beamer still try to run out the clock with a three point lead, mid way through the 3rd quarter? 6. Against the worst defense in the ACC, Virginia managed only 188yds of TOTAL offense against Pitt. They were as weak as the ketchup on the Heinz field hot dogs. 7. Bye Bye Lane Kiffin!!! If you’re going to abuse your players, you’d better win some games. 8. Speaking of player abuse, How’s it going out in Arizona Rich? Lost again? I guess the Huskies weren’t as weak as UNLV or UTSA. By the way, you’re old team won. Have a good week of practice before the USC game. 9. Pilot Sports Headline: “The University of Albany isn’t the University of Maryland or even the Citadel.” STOP! Say no more. (nudge nudge) Know what I mean? ODU’s defense finally held somebody to “only” 325 yards? Of course, that would be the 114th ranked team in the FCS. The rest of the slate looks a little different though. Oh no, that would be Liberty, Norfolk State, Rhode Island and Campbell (Ah yes, the Fighting Camels.) Hey, I hear Princess Anne Middle School has an open date.
