Boozhoo my sundance family, After a few days of recovering and - TopicsExpress

Boozhoo my sundance family, After a few days of recovering and thinking about my experience this year at the beautiful ceremony I have a few things to share with everyone. First of all thank you to everyone that participated this year, firekeepers, leaders, supporters, cooks, singers and dancers. My first special experience came on first day dancing as I looked to the sky during one of our rounds around the middle of the day I saw an eagle very high in the sky. I blinked to adjust my eyes to look sharper at it and it had disappeared. A few rounds later I had the feeling of being watched out of the corner of my eye was billys chair and was convinced that there were people sitting there but did not see anyone when I looked directly at it. After arriving at camp on the Monday before sundance I had the urge to make a pipe but had other things to prepare and help with. After the sundance started my granddad dominated my prayers and thoughts. He is a WW2 veteran and is getting close to 90 yrs old. He has been in the hospital for the past two months with various problems and we are unsure if he will recover enough to be released. He asked my dad to find his aanishinabe name and on the third day he received his name in the morning at our sunrise entry. Later in that day as some of the men may recall bo began calling me Walter. I asked him why he began calling me that name he said because of one of characters on the muppets. Walter is the English name of my grandad in the hospital. It hit me that day that he was the reason and person that I need to make a pipe for. That is all i would like to share. Hope everyone has been well! Miigwetch Isaiah
