Bore da We often hear of young ospreys being taught how to fish by their parents - this is not true. All the fishing know-how is already locked into their genetic code, all an osprey needs is the anatomical tools to fish and some practice. Its not often we see this testing and practice behaviour - yesterday we actually filmed it. Here is some truly rare footage of Deri, around 400m away from the nest over the Dyfi River, doing just that.
