Borgers March 29 Practice Cancelled. Borgers PR Media Contact Bob Snyder [email protected] March 29 Practice Rescheduled, Darryl Deemer Heads Up Kart Division, Parts Dealer, and Chief Tech Inspector. With the forecast of rain Friday which will soak an already saturated parking area and the forecast of steady, heavy rain throughout the day Saturday the practice session for Saturday March 29 has been cancelled. General Manager Brendan O’Connor, “the track is in great shape and has weathered the winter extremely well but the parking area up to is still soaked and we are unable to park cars in that area. We do not have room in the pits to accommodate the cars of crew members that are involved with the racers so we have no choice but to cancel. The weather forecast we have just received is not looking good so we feel this is the best move. We do not want to get people here and have to send them home.” Saturday April 5 will be a practice day and the first race will be April 12. The ATQMRA event originally scheduled for our opener will be rescheduled. There will be some further adjustments to the schedule for the first few weeks and the start of the point season will be delayed. We will announce schedule adjustments shortly. Darryl Deemer will take over as the Karts Parts Dealer and handle the teching for the Karts and Big Cars. Brendan O’Connor, “Darryl is well respected in the motorsports industry and will be able to handle the needs of the racers. With his solid integrity we can trust him to handle the extremely important job of tech man so we can insure all racers will be on a level playing field. May I add we will be teching and enforcing the rules this season to the max. If we can give everyone a level playing field we will attract and keep racers who are asking us for the teching that is so sorely being missed at some other tracks.” Check Facebook, Slingshots by Tobias, Microrcing, Bob’s 4 Cycle, Racing Slingshots, Small Car Weekly, and our web-site borgers-speedway for updates for the start of the 2014 racing season.
