Boris The Spider, from the Whos 1966 album A Quick One , is todays Halloween song. Having a black comedy theme, it was composed by Who band member John Entwhistle after a night of drinking with the Rolling Stones Bill Wyman. While the two were thinking up names for animals, Entwhistle came up with the idea for Boris The Spider and only took six minutes to write this clever little horror song. During the chorus Entwhistle sings the words Boris The Spider in a bass range followed by the repeating creepy crawley, creepy crawley sung in a falsetto. According to Pete Townsend this was Jimi Hendrixs favorite Who song.
