Born in New Orleans, raised in Tulsa, John Stambaugh came to - TopicsExpress

Born in New Orleans, raised in Tulsa, John Stambaugh came to Colorado after 6 years of university. John was a star football player who Barry Switzer attempted to recruit for the University of Arkansas early in his coaching career. When he heard John had gone to the Colorado Rockies to chase bears, Switzer commented, I pity the poor bears. After the memorial service for John Stambaugh yesterday in Montrose, Colorado, the words Jesus shared with his guys just before his death on a cross for the sins of the human race were coursing through my thoughts, Let not your heart be troubled. You are trusting God, now trust in me. There are many homes up there where my Father lives, and I am going to prepare them for your coming. With these thoughts in mind, I left Montrose where the Stambaugh Ranch is located on the west side of The Black Canyon of the Gunnison and drove to the east rim of the canyon. From Crawford to Gunnison, there are no services for 80 miles. In this solitary landscape, I slept the night in my Subaru Outback. It snowed and a herd of elk passed near the car. Here are just a few scenes of the landscape that I think the Lord Jesus has in mind for John and Sue ... only much better!
