Born in the eighties, I had a chance to see Green and Red flags and banners all over my Family My passion kept on growing from the age of six I loved that man Liam McHale and all his midfield tricks Now I have my own kids; as small as they are They learn of stories of the trips in our decked out car Following my beautiful mayo each year we go on We will show the world we are far from gone The memories of making home made bands As a child back then life was simple and we engraved it in the sands Mayo will bring Sam home to the Mall we just know But 96 drowned that dream and 97 increased the blow Well known in the country as a flop on September day We keep our heads risen and we will definitely get our say For in the sky there is a man looking on our men And we will win the all-Ireland in the final ten Each year the hype moves over to another place And this year 2014 its Dublin in our face Its obvious they have the class the skill and all the rest But behind the scary media there is a tiger in the West Not missing many a championship game and living in the Queens Land Ill miss my flag flying high back in my beloved Ireland Tomorrow is the day to beat the kingdom on the soil And bring the green and red spirit out of turmoil Lets sing aloud across the globe for 70 out loud This year lets believe in it and take Dublin out of the cloud Its time to get behind the boys all the way to the max Sit back get the flask out and try and relax The minor boys out at noon will start off our roar Angelina in the van and ritchies packed to the core Its time to dip for oil all you dads back home Lets get the car started and pray to the man in rome.
