Born on January 27, 1756, in Salzburg, Austria, Wolfgang Amadeus - TopicsExpress

Born on January 27, 1756, in Salzburg, Austria, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was a musician capable of playing multiple instruments who started playing in public at the age of 6. Along with Haydn, Mozart conceived and perfected the forms of symphony, opera, string quartet, and concerto that mark the classical period. Mozart changed the face of music in many ways, he composed over 600 works, many of which are considered pinnacles. He heard Allegris Miserere in performance in the Sistine Chapel and wrote it out from memory, thus producing the first unauthorized copy of this closely guarded property of the Vatican. I will post a link to a short biography about him a little later today. This is a beautiful rendition of his requiem, that he wrote for himself and did not manage to finish before his death at 35.
