Borno Nominees Absent as Committee on Abducted Girls Meets The Presidential Fact-finding Committee on the Abduction of over 200 girls at Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State, held its maiden meeting on Tuesday, an official has said. A statement from the committee’s spokesperson, Kingsley Osadolor, said the meeting was held shortly after its inauguration by President Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja. It said the committee immediately went into workgroups to gather and sift facts already in the public domain and within the knowledge of appropriate agencies. The statement said the committee took cognisance of the absence of the three representatives of the Borno State Government during the inauguration at State House. The statement added: “The committee contacted the Secretary to the Borno State Government, Baba-Ahmed Jidda, to find out reason for the absence. “Jidda explained that he had been away, but promised to send the nominated representatives at the next plenary of the committee.” The committee is chaired by retired Brigadier General Ibrahim Sabo. - See more at: moonreports/?p=2052#sthash.J6HCL9CG.dpuf
