Boston....what a great place to spend the last few days, especially Thanksgiving. While spending time here Ive been doing some reading on, and visiting of, some of the historical places and events which took place here that shaped the birth of this great country. What great men our ancestors were. Bravery at its finest. They stood up to an overbearing government and fought the notion of taxation without representation. They stood up to the government entering their homes and seizing their property. And when they got wind that the government was sending military from England to arrest the most vocal of those who opposed them they banded together to stand their ground. These patriots stood up to a force that greatly outnumbered them....while being in the minority amongst their family and friends, as most of their neighbors didnt want to fight. And when push came to shove they fought anyway because they knew they were in the right in their dream of freedom. Ive been walking around this great city with a renewed sense of pride. Ive been trying to wrap my head around what they must have felt as they decided to go all in in their dream of freedom and creating a new country. Today I visited the home of Paul Revere, and as I was walking through the park on my way back to the hotel I walked up on a group of Muslims passing out literature and shouting their beliefs. They held up a sign that read The wickedness of the white man as they shouted how the ones that we Americans call terrorists are really the heroes. They looked into my eyes (I was the only white man who stood with them and listened to their garbage) and called the white man a coward.....and described a great world soon to come when the white man is gone. I was not afraid...I was angry. Angry at this hate filled movement that is like a disease moving around the world. I dont know what the answer is to this problem but wed all better be giving it some thought...we might soon have another kind of fight on our hands.
