Both daughters went to the local discount store yesterday. I went - TopicsExpress

Both daughters went to the local discount store yesterday. I went at 7 am and things were pretty calm, but by the time the daughters got there later in the day things were well, chaotic might be the best word. Last minute shoppers, empty aisles and frantic searches for things still needed made for crazy shopping. I find that I too can get caught up in the last minute rush. Don’t I need more “stuff”? Did everyone get enough presents? Will Christmas meet all the expectations of everyone? By the time the day gets here it’s easy to feel frazzled, ragged, drug out and ready for it to all be over. It’s not too late though. There’s still time. Even with the rush it’s still possible to get things right. Even if there’s no white Christmas, no perfect present, no best pie ever, etc. etc. etc. There’s time to make the season bright with more than the tinsel and glitter and lights. What would God say to you if He were right here with you right this minute in the last moments of preparation? Oh beloved, God is here with you! He knows you’ve had wonderful plans to make this the best Christmas ever. But He also knows that sometimes you’ve been so hard on yourself that you’ve forgotten what really makes it all come together. And that’s Him. He’s calling you to come away with Him for just a moment and let Him remind you that Jesus is the reason for this season. He’s the reason you are living and breathing and have opportunity to celebrate. He knows your every disappointment and He’s here to speak love words into your heart. Christ came so that you could have life and have it more abundantly. He responds to your prayers with His answers that are exceedingly abundantly above all you could ever ask or think. He saved you when you said yes to His call, but it’s so much more than that. He’s with you always and forever. He’s with you in the store, He’s with you in the workplace, in the doctor’s office, when the news is good and when the news is bad. He’s with you when you’re in the throngs of people pushing and shoving. He’s with you when Christmas has abundance of things and all the trappings. He’s with you when Christmas has been less than stellar. He has come to take away your fears of failure, your fears of loneliness, your fear of imperfection – all your fears. Don’t let your unmet expectations ruin everything and don’t let the enemy steal what belongs to you always. God loves you and He’s for you. Not just at Christmas, but especially at Christmas! There is still time to give Him first place today, tomorrow and every day. He will multiply your blessings and divide your sorrows. Open up His love song book and read: every single Word is for you! He came to the manger for you. He walked to the cross for you. He rose from the grave for you. You are a blessed and highly favored child of God and you can live loved, live relaxed peaceful and joyful even on the busiest of days as you live in the light of His glory and grace! Luke 2:10 But the angel said to them, Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people! John 10:10 The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows). Amplified Mathew 11:28 Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 2:11 They entered the house and saw the Child with His mother, Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped Him. Then they opened their treasure chests and gave Him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Psalm 42:1 As the deer pants for the water brooks, So my soul pants for You, O God.
