Bothal Weir, just seen photos of the vandalism of the weir and the fish ladder, the ladder has been completely removed with the debris strewn down river and no cosmetic work taken place, river where you used to swim because of the dam you could walk over dry., Reason given according to a resident it was to help the fish swim upstream easier,(they managed all right for a couple of hundred years) the real reason its believed is upstream is Morpeth and they might get flooded again, was the destruction in the plans of the flood defense? more next week when I find out.
