Botswana rubbishes Ebola death claims The health ministry has confirmed that Botswana remains free of the Ebola virus, APA learnt here on Thursday.This followed allegations that a person died in Palapye village in what is suspected to be an Ebola related death. In a report by the state media, the deputy permanent secretary in the ministry Shenaaz El-Halabi said the government, along with others in the southern African region as well as local stakeholders, has put in place effective detection measures to try to ensure that Botswana remains Ebola-free. She said her ministry would promptly inform the nation of any change in Botswana’s Ebola-free status as it was absolutely necessary that the public be kept fully informed on the issue to ensure the disease’s containment.
