Botswanas Makgadikgadi Salt pans covering an area more than 5,000sqkm (lake Magadi is around 100sqkm) it is among the largest in the world. We traveled 375km through them over some pretty wild bush tracks. This pic was just before Kubu Islad seen in the background which is a granite rocky outcrop right in the centre of the pans covered with dozens of ancient baobab trees. Ill post a pic of a couple as they are quite different in their setting
