Bottom up front squats are an excellent assistance exercise to build up strength in the hole. I currently am in a long plateau at 335 for front squats and lose it from the bottom. Here is a way to program to target some of the bottom strength. Setup for the exercise is easy. Find your bottom position (whatever that may be) and set up safety bars. Start with about 60% of your 1RM and load up the bar. Start like a normal squat and lower it to the safety bars. This will ensure optimal position instead of just ducking underneath from the bottom. Rest 2-3 seconds and then explode up. Try for sets of five after your main squat work is completed. Notice how my spine maintains the natural curvature.
