Bouncing Back! Most of you know Alana from her classes and training at Womens Fitness. And you probably know that just a few months ago Alana had a beautiful little girl! Now Alana is getting back into super shape after pregnancy and is sharing some of her experiences with us. She will give us regular updates over the next few weeks- which hopefully will help motivate and encourage some of you in the same boat! Enjoy! Hi ladies, I writing up a blog so people can follow my exercise routine and my progress each week , just to encourage all the ladies out there that it is good to get back to the gym routine And get back in shape after your babies! So Ive had the all the clear to exercise from the doctors this week and have made the plunge to go back to the gym! Although I trained right through my pregnancy and have always been very fit all my life being a gym instructor, I still had a feeling of nerves inside me!! I am following the kickstart plan diet and have managed to lose 10 pounds but eating alone is not going to help my fitness or help tone up my tummy !! So I started with the dreaded booty boot camp with Ian , its was all lunges, burpees, sprawls and planks and half ways through I though to myself oh my god Im actually going to die! But I kept going and kept up with the pace feeling pretty smug with myself ! My smugness was soon wiped Off my face when 2 days later I got up and could not even manage the stairs , the toilet or even walk!! My legs were on fire!!But I felt great as I knew my body was reacting perfectly to the exercise :) as they say no pain no gain!! Week 2 19th may So after my body was back to normal I decided to go to Claras spinning class on Monday evening! It was a really really tough class full of very deep and heavy leg work which once again burned my thighs and my legs so badly! It was a lot of uphill sprints and jumps and deep squats on the bike! I felt my fitness lacking slightly in the sprints but again told myself to keep up the pace !! When it was over again I felt fantastic and the following day had only slight pain in my muscles so as the say your muscle has memory it never forgets and this is true as I could feel the tightness starting in my bum and thighs again!! So hoping to get to body pump Friday morning with Ian ! Diet is still going well and have lost another pound this week! Really enjoying the diet and I have been doing some ab exercises at home too !
