BoxRun Marathon is 33.333% over as Marathon #30 has come to an end with 43 kms done in a beautiful running day with overcast and light wind and a little rain, not much for sunbathing but perfect for running a marathon.We are currently in Truro, Nova Scotia and was met last night by Heather MacLeod and got some treatment on my Achilles which has been really hurting for the last week, Heather has been doing massage treatment for wrestling Canada for a while and was part of the 1996 Olympic medical team and Atlanta. Heather even came out and ran with me and her dog Wallyfor 2kms and than was visited by runners Tanya and her son for some kms and two runners from the Truro running club which helped keep me company for a while. We had a pleasant surprise at the end of the run as Pat Conlons girlfriend Diane shocked him with a visit to finally put a smile on his face!!!lol. Todays sponsor of the day goes to the Holiday Inn (Truro) who donated a couple of rooms for the BoxRun team. Todays donation of the day goes to Hooligans for a generous $200.00 donation. Todays dedication is to a special guy who was an amazing boxer and runner, Jerry Friesen was a dedicated boxer and an unbelievable runner who donated a lot of time and money to the sport he loved so much. Jerry passed away while running and I think he wouldnt have had it any other way. He is survived by his three children and wife Jody. Our word of the day goes out to one word that describes Jerry and that is LEGEND and BoxRun Marathon #30 will always be yours Jerry!!!! Tomorrow is a big day as my girlfriend Susie Mowers is flying in to see me but I have to run a marathon before I see her so maybe expect a world record for tomorrows run, cant wait to see her!!!Please Keep:Running for the fight and donate to boxrun.org!!!!
