Boxing, Rugby, powerlifting federations suspended Three Cameroonian federations have been suspended by their various international governing bodies. The activities of the Boxing, Rugby and Powerlifting federations have therefore been put on hold. The national cycling race is also concerned by the suspension. The suspension of the powerlifting federation could be attributed to the use of athletes who run away once abroad for international events. Negotiations might have been launched with the discipline’s international governing body for an eventual lifting. The rugby federation on its part is reportedly sanctioned for refusing to take part in international competitions as well as paying corresponding dues. The suspension of the Cameroon boxing federation is related to the recent elections that might have suffered government interference. The international Cycling Union has also suspended the Cameroon national cycling tour due some problems in relation with the 2013 edition of the event.
