You have been scheduled to take a Calasanz Boxing test. 2. Your test will take place on _________________________at________________. Day Date Time 3. The following techniques must be practiced and perfected during the next 30 days. 4. Once you have mastered them, ask Calasanz or one of his instructors to review your techniques and sign the bottom of this form. 5. On test day you will be videotaped for 5 minutes. Choose your best for this segment from the Test Day Requirements list below. Suggestions include basics, kata, kumite, ground fighting, submission, sparring or self-defense. If your choice requires a partner or opponent, please enlist their assistance in preparation during these 30 days and their participation on your test day. On Test Day 1. Arrive 30 minutes earlier to allow for registration and warm-up. 2. Bring your gi, current belt, sparring equipment (if necessary), this form signed by either Calasanz or an instructor, and a blank VHS videotape. Blank tapes may be purchased here at the school. 3. Your test fee is $40.00. Payment is to be made in the form of cash, check or credit card on the day of the test. Please note that no one will be allowed to test without payment. 4. Begin and end your videotaped test with the traditional Calasanz System bow. Pre-Test Preparation Prepare and practice a maximum of 20 boxing combinations, these combinations must contains all of the main punches and techniques used on boxing, using such as American boxing and the Calasanz unique boxing techniques which emphasize on more use of your hips, longer reach and more power and simplicity than the American boxing. 1) JAB TO BODY AND JAB TO THE HEAD. 2) DOUBLE JAB TO THE HEAD FOLLOWED BY RIGHT PUNCH. 3) RIGHT PUNCH, FOLLOW HOOK TO THE KENNEY AND SHORT LEFT HOOK TO THE HEAD. 4) JAB TO THE HEAD, RIGHT HAND HOOK TO BODY, WITHOUT PULLING BACK, SWITCH IT INTO A RIGHT PUNCH TO THE HEAD 5) JAB TO THE BODY AND FOLLOW WITH A RIGHT UPPER CUT TO THE CHIN. 6) BLOCK A PUNCH, GO UNDER TOWARD LEFT, LONG LEFT HOOK AND END WITH A RIGHT PUNCH TO THE HEAD. 7) BLOCK A PUNCH, GO UNDER MOVING TOWARD RIGHT, THEN RIGHT HAND PUNCH AND SWITCH IT INTO AN UPPER CUT TO THE CHIN. 8) BLOCK A JAB FROM YOUR OPPONENT WITH RIGHT HAND, JAB WITH LEFT, RIGHT PUNCH, SHORT LEFT HOOK AND END WITH RIGHT. 9) DROP BACK AS YOU COVER THE HEAD WITH LEFT HAND, FOLLOW UP WITH A RIGHT AND LEFT HOOK TO THE BODY, RIGHT HAND PUNCH TO HEAD, LONG LEFT HOOK AND END WITH AN UPPER CUT TO THE CHIN. 10) BLOCK A JAB WITH RIGHT HAND AND SAME HAND ATTACK WITH A RIGHT HAND PUNCH TO THE HEAD. Test Day Requirements EVERY BLACK BELT CAN VARY THESE 10 COMBINATIONS, MEANING THEY CAN DO MORE THAN 10 OR THEY CAN DO LESS. THEY CAN DO SHORTER OR LONGER COMBINATIONS. INSTEAD OF COACHING THEY CAN ALSO DO THEM AS A FIGHT, BUT AT THIS POINT THEY HAVE TO FIND THEIR OPPONENT WHO CAN FIGHT THEM. WHEN THEY FINISH THE 5 MINUTES ACTION, THEY JUST BOW.
