Boy with extra-ordinarily long neck to undergo surgery A 15-year-old Chinese boy is to undergo surgery on his exceptionally long neck, according to Sky News. Fu Wengui, who lives in Beijing, the country’s capital, suffers from a number of rare conditions which leaves him in crushing pains. While the standard number of vertebrae in the neck is seven, Fu has 10, making movement very difficult and painful. The extra vertebrae press on the nerves in his neck anytime he attempts to walk, leaving him in tears most of the time. The teenager as a result of his strange condition causes stir whenever he goes out. At only six, Wengui was diagnosed with congenital scoliosis and abnormal chest frame, according to his 50-year-old father, Genyou. Congenital scoliosis is a spinal deformity caused by vertebrae that are not properly formed. It occurs very early in development; in the first six weeks of embryonic formation. Wengui is due to undergo surgery to try and reduce the size of his neck. A Beijing-based charity volunteered to sponsor the operation and doctors in the hospital it would take place are already mapping out a treatment plan. ift.tt/1CbtcHi ift.tt/1zUs8Uu [[Boost your social presence with NAIRALIKES nairalikes ]] #nigeria x #nairalikes #vanguardng
