Boyd County Residents and Surrounding Counties: We are all - TopicsExpress

Boyd County Residents and Surrounding Counties: We are all suffering from mysterious respiratory illnesses. Many have not tested positive for flu, but we are being told we have upper respiratory illnesses, sinusitis, viruses, etc. We are exposed to rampant air pollutants from the Big Run Landfill, and it is getting no better. The irritants are being released in the air as everyone well knows. It is affecting our lifestyles and it is affecting our health. The worry seems to be the smell, but we need to discover what is in the air and what is so powerful that could be sprayed in the air to eliminate the smell and how that also affects us all. I looked at the CSX web site and it lists all the items below which are carried by train car to the Big Run Landfill. All of those things affect everyones health. If you have a student in Boyd County Schools, your student spends the biggest part of his day in the middle of the most horrendous smell in the county. The smell is covering Boyd County along Interstate 64, Route 3, Route 5, Route 180, Route 60, Cedar Knoll Subdivision, Ponderosa Subdivision, Carter County, and I have even been told that the smell drifts to the Raceland Car Shops. This site has interesting information regarding air pollution and the effects on your health! It includes a study and lawsuit against Ashland Oil some years ago when that mysterious white powder was coating vehicles and eroding paint. It also relates to air pollution by other means including those byproducts from landfills. The contents of the rail cars coming from out of state include residential solid wastes, waste to energy ash, incinerator ash, construction waste, demolition debris, contaminated soils (such as PCBs, insecticide, petroleum, radioactive) filter cake, electric arc furnace dust, industrial sludge and plant refuse, and other industrial wastes and solids (Hazardous and Nonhazardous), and all of these things contribute to respiratory illnesses, cardiovascular disease, cerebrovascular events, high blood pressure, asthma, and more. Educate yourselves on your illnesses and think about that beautiful Boyd County High School which was built for the benefit of your children while the Boyd County Landfill contributes to the demise of your health and theirs. The air quality is worsening on a daily basis. It is getting no better. Symptoms include eyes watering, coughing, sneezing, runny nose, and exacerbation of various illnesses. Read how other cities have suffered these same illnesses from landfill exposure.
