Bozimo, Owie urge FG, NASS to declare full-scale state of emergency in Borno, Yobe BENIN—FORMER Minister of Police Affairs, Alaowei Broderick Bozimo and the former Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Rowland Owie, weekend, described as wicked and ungodly, the continuous detention of children abducted by the Boko Haram sect last week and urged the Federal Government to declare full state of emergency in Borno and Yobe states. While Bozimo expressed optimism that President Goodluck Jonathan will emerge as the best President the country ever had before the end of his tenure despite the activities of the sect in some states in the North, Owie stressed the need for the National Assembly to back the President in the declaration of a full state of emergency in the troubled states in order to stop “the carnage and evil practices of these people.” Bozimo said: “What we are experiencing is despicable. It is a tragedy because you sent children to school because you want them to be educated, only for people to abduct them. For any parent, that is wickedness. They should release the children immediately because that is ungodly. We pray that God should touch the hearts of these Boko Haram people to release the children.” On his part, Senator Owie said: “The abduction is barbaric and ungodly. It is now clear that the Boko Haram people are direct agents of Satan and do not deserve to be treated as ordinary criminals. Total war should be declared on them. I urge the President to declare full state of emergency in Borno and Yobe states and I particularly plead with the National Assembly to support the President on this matter.”
