Brace yourself, folks - this ones gold: Tonight, while walking home from work through my dark and deserted neighborhood, I crossed paths with a total stranger. That happens a lot. Nothing to write home about there. I made eye contact with him and readied the age-old I see you and you are a person nod of acknowledgement. It was at this point that things took a turn. Instead of nodding back and continuing on his way, or averting his gaze back to his own nocturnal commute, he planted his feet and held eye contact. A blur of mumbles tumbled from his mouth into the can peeking out of his brown paper bag. Whats that? I asked, trying to telegraph non-threatening ignorance. I had thought his gaze was leveled on my before, until he inclined his eyes further forward and clarified, Are you gonna let me suck that? I didnt quite manage to suppress the reactionary chuckle as I blurted out the most courteous refusal I could muster in a quarter of a second. As I stepped past him to continue my walk home, I almost didnt hear him call after me: whore! Discuss.
