Bragging parent alert... Finally able to see Gs report card. My son gets grades on a number scale with 3 being the highest. I am so proud to report that there were only 3 grades that were 2s (gym, music, and being an active listener) and everything else (all of the academics) were 3s. Two personality areas that had been 2s last quarter went up to 3s. His reading level progressed this year from L to Q which means he reads and comprehends a full grade level or more above his actual grade. What is most impressive to me is when I told him how proud I am of his grades, he immediately asked what his reading level letter was from his assessment. This is so vital. He cares that he progresses. He understands the correlation between the assessment and assigned level. He gets it. I could not be more astounded by him. On a low note, the day I knew would happen is upon me. When I ask him about his feelings, he doesnt want to talk about it, but kept his dad up half the night crying and talking about his feelings. I am so blessed that Kenneth Goad is this childs father and that G knows that he can share the good, the bad, and the ugly with him especially if he doesnt want to talk to me about it. I am attempting not to take it personally.
