Brain Injury Awareness is everyday for me ~ While everyone else was trying everything they could to get the big hair look, all I had to do was get out of bed, brush my hair and go. When my hair was long, I didnt need to wear a hat or hood when it got cold out. In fact with any level of humidity I never had to use hair spray to get the big hair look.... and we would call the way my hair poofs my Swedish Afro. There is a line in a song, and while the rest of the lyrics arent appropriate, the kids would always quote it about my Wild Wild Hair LOL Even though I had always gone in the other direction, trying everything I could to get my hair to be straight. My one best friend used to be the only person I trusted to cut my hair and she called it my horses mane it was so thick. After my head injury, one Dr told me in his opinion the only reason I hadn’t received a fractured skull was the thick full head of hair had acted like a helmet.
