I knew what her abilities were, but she didn’t know about mine. “I’m not going to hurt you. I just thought it would be better if we had some privacy.” “What for?” “This,” I said and spread my fingers wide as a brilliant transparent blue light encircled both of us. She gasped and at first I thought maybe I’d been wrong about her. That maybe she wasn’t who I thought she was, but she took a couple of steps toward the light encircling us and extended her hand to it.
