Brave men and women,considering the slaughter of thier editor,mates and carnage and lock down that followed in Paris as Europe is simmering and not yet boiling over with all out war against Islamic countries and re claiming or conqering back Constantinople form the Turks and Holy Land from the isrealis etc etc as I just started reading abook by R.H.Kiernan,author of first war in the war,etc who dedicated the Book :Lawrence of Arabia to his mother. The book was first published in July 1935 by George G.Harrap and co ltd,london,sydney and bombay publishers and by Purnell and sons,ltd,Paulton and london who had big printing works in Fishpods,Bristol whihc employed loads of locals but all that printing works has gone many moons ago. I asked my wife for something to read after the Body line series book,by a sydney journalist whihc i found interesting having played the game of cricket and with many indelible memories of good cathces,innings,incidents as well as winning some games against all odds or against tronger teams occasionaly. and also when we invited Tema india,including Kapil dev,Ravi shastri to bristol indian cricket team do. Hence,an old book whihc was given to my late father in law as a a school prize when Englihs father in law was at Culford school,Bury St.Edmunds,when he was perhaps fourteen or,fifteen in 1939 or 1940 when second world broke out.The book is interesting where the author describes how the Turkish rulled most of middle east,and parts of north africa etc and the Russian Czar wanted Britain to join the battles as Arabs were in revolt against the Turkish ruleas the Arabs considered the Turks as not proper Muslims and felt persecuted etc. and Mecca should be centre of Muslim global influence or arbiter etc . Hence,the Arabs including Prince Faisla of Saudi arabia asked for help and the Czar Nicholas,nephew of Queen Victoia,just the German Kaiser was also nephew of Queen Victoria of not only but also Germany and empress of India as he rhusband was german ,Royal albert. But Britain refused and thought Russia might get more powerfull and rich compared to her empire as no doubt Russians would re captured Istanbull and brought bak Constantipole as her Orthodox Christian capital with Hagia Sophia restored to her former glory as a christian church instead of a mosque or a museum. However,Britain declined but did join Russia when war broke out in 1914 or so and Churchill sent in near 105 ships to bombard turkey and land troops at galipoli and open the sea route for russians black fleet etc and isolate turkey .but Germans under Kaiser switched thier support to Turkey and famous siege and defence by Colonel Attaturk with 300,000 arab volunteeers defeated churchill and allies and indian troops and had to give up that fight and transfer troops elsewhere and redeploy. Hence,opportunity last with Kaisers idea is a missed opportunity,like a lucky lottery of life,destiny,world events and some may think history is repeating itself but this time war in europes heartland and mainland as folks march in dresden,Paris as some percieve or think europe is slowly but surely being islamised etc .Indeed,politicians have been bending backwards and dropping thier trousers,knickers etc for oil rich arabs mega bucks with women as well .eg sophi anderton of bristol,offering bottom for ten grand ,bra lingeie model and many like he rincluding uk,america,british politicians,if given a dimo or neck lace or mega bucks by gaddafi,ex now or arabs of say half a million or severla millions then folks would policies to appease them or please them.eg allowing halal,kosher etc as well as naming stadiums,towers etc as money is king.phew.but who doesnt want or need money but as Ghandi said it is greed of few and not need of money ,when there is enough to go around ,some would say and think,has buggered the world ,eg folks Jonathan Aitkins,MP,Privy cuncillor to name but one of many who was pimping for arabs to cajole matron in uk to provide young englihs/britihs white girls for arabs to shag.phew.what a carry on. But reading in the book,whihc shows a picture of Colonel Lawrence dressed in arab costumes ,sitting mjestically,painted in Damascus in october ,1918 by James Mcbey,official artist in Palestine with Egyptian expeditionary force,relates that whilst he was painting the portrait,Arab chiefs were coming to kiss his hand in farewell. Indeed.Indian troops were landed to break the siege at southern extremity of turksih empire near aden,where a large force attacked a small British force,at the entrance to red sea,the turks abandoned the siege. The Arabs were not happy with turksih rule and saw turks as invaders and inferior mohemeddans and punishment was harsh by turks and syrian arabs were cowed.There were secret socities in syria,Mesopotamia and elsewhere,plotting to free the Arab peoples.when ever they wer ediscovered,they were tortured and hanged.But no torture,however dreadfull ,could wring from them the name of thier leader,Feisal,who the Turks according to the book would have loved to have captured and tried him for treason and hanged.Sometimes the turks woudl take him to see executions and he would lo show no sign, and his men looked unwaveringly into his face with not the slightest sign of betrayal as they were hanged after the torture. Feisal was one of four brothers,,Ali,Abdulla and Zeid were the others.They were the sons of Sherif of Mecca,Hussein,a prince of the blood of Mahomed,whihc is the meaning of SherifHussiens dream was that his family might some day ,head a great federation of Arab states,freed and liberated from turkish empire and revive the greatness remembered of the Arab Empire from the past. hence,as old battles continue,is history repeating itself in europe,middle east and africa etc,some may think or ponder.i.e I think therefore I am i.e to ponder,reflect,wonder and think back.
